‘What Can I Say?’ Gronk Cracks Up Fox NFL Hosts With Snuck-In Burn On The New York Jets

Former NFL star Rob Gronkowski had his Fox NFL colleagues cracking up in post-game coverage of the Lions win over the Bears on Sunday with an casually delivered epic burn on former rivals the New York Jets.

As the Fox NFL hosts were discussing Detroit’s 31-26 over division rival Chicago on Sunday, the former star Patriots and Buccaneers tight end Gronkowski brought up the importance of division games, using the Jets as an example.

“Those are the games that you got to win in your division, too. It doesn’t matter if the Chicago Bears have two wins, three wins, four wins. When you’re playing a division game, it’s always going to be tough,” said Gronk.

“It’s like when we played the Jets. Yeah, they had two wins a year, but every, every game is within three score or within three points or two points or a touchdown,” he said, sneaking in the burn and prompting laughter from his co-hosts. “Same with this game right here.”

“You know what I love about you?” asked former New York Giant Michael Strahan with his hand on Gronk’s shoulder.

“Yeah, what is that, Michael?” replied Gronk.

“You said they win two games a year, the Jets. That was such a like subtle shade. That was a little shaaaade,” said Strahan as he and Howie Long laughed.

“I mean what can I say? It’s been like that for the last decade when I was there,” Gronkowski added over the crosstalk as Terry Bradshaw moved to the next subject.

At the time of the broadcast, the 4-5 Jets were set to face the 5-5 Buffalo Bills in the afternoon game.

LONG: You can’t, you can’t play the kind of defense they’ve played when you get towards the end of the year. You say number one, number two seed, yes. And never apologize for winning. I agree with Dan Campbell. But their defense has to get better, particularly on the back end.

GRONKOWSKI: Those are the games that you got to win in your division, too. It doesn’t matter if the Chicago Bears have two wins, three wins, four wins. When you’re playing a division game, it’s always going to be tough. It’s like when we played the Jets. Yeah, they had two wins a year, but every, every game is within three score or within three points or two points or a touchdown. Same with this game right here. Those are the games Dan Campbell has to win. They pulled it off on the game-winning sealing drive by Jared Goff. That’s how you step up and take that W.

STRAHAN: You know what I love about you?

GRONKOWSKI: Yeah what is that Michael?

STRAHAN: You said they win two games a year, the Jets. That was such a like subtle shade. That was a little shaaaade.

GRONKOWSKI: I mean what can I say? It’s been like that for the last decade when I was there.
