Tuesday horse racing tips from Ed Quigley: Best picks for Fakenham & Hereford

Ed Quigley was amongst the winners at Cheltenham over the weekend, and is back with his best bets for the action on Tuesday…

Ted’s bets for Tuesday, November 21:

Find the following picks for the races at Fakenham and Hereford. Play on the races with our best expert rated horse racing betting sites:

  • Fakenham 12.10 – Francina – bet with bet365
  • Hereford 2.05 – Aston Martini – bet with talkSPORT BET
  • Fakenham 2.30 – Mrs Grimley – bet with BetMGM

Fakenham 12.10 – Francina

As you would expect, there are many unexposed types on display here, with three newcomers making the gig. However, I want to side with experience for this assignment, and the once-raced FRANCINA can go one better than she did when runner-up at Hereford last month.

The beautifully bred daughter of Sea The Moon looked green, but full of raw ability, when filling the silver-medal spot on her racecourse debut but should have learnt a great deal from that outing. It was a messy and tactical affair, but she ran a really eye-catching race and is entitled to come on bundles for that introductory effort.

The Jamie Snowden team continue to be in absolutely scintillating form, operating around a 35% strike-rate for the last fortnight. Johnny Burke takes the ride on the 3-year-old who holds plenty of potential in this grade.

Trip and ground should be absolutely fine, and the combination get the nod from me.

Hereford 2.05 – Aston Martini

The wonderfully named ASTON MARTINI can race away from her rivals to land the Mares’ maiden Hurdle over an extended 2m3f. The Nicky Henderson team are enjoying a purple patch at the moment, with Jonbon amongst the stars at Seven Barrows who strutted their stuff over the weekend at Cheltenham.

This 4-year-old looks to have the tools to get the job done here. She powered away from her rivals to get the job done in a Southwell bumper back in June, and should have ground on the lively side which should prove no problem for her, and if anything, help her display her gears.

No doubt she will have been extensively schooled over Hurdles, and she can get off the mark at the first time of asking over obstacles, and maintain her unbeaten record.

Fakenham 2.30 – Mrs Grimley

We have Mares’ Handicap Hurdle action on the cards, and I think the value play is the Ben Pauling trained MRS GRIMLEY. The daughter of Australia showed a consistent level of form last season, winning at Ffos Las from a 2lb lower mark. She arrives on the back of a 263-day absence, but if fully revved-up she is a danger to all in this company.

Her rivals aren’t prolific by any stretch of the imagination, and if she brings her A-game to the table, then I think she is the one they have to beat. She is versatile in regards to underfoot requirements but should also benefit from this drop back in trip.

When she was last seen, running over an extended 2m3f at Doncaster, she shaped like a total non-stayer in my view, so I think this sharp 2m will be much more her bag. The excellent Beau Morgan takes the ride claiming 5lb. I think a bold show can be expected from the 5-year-old in this encounter.

Don’t forget Ed will be back on Saturday with his best bets for what should be a stellar day, with Grade 1 action at Haydock on the cards…
