Doomben horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:43) Ladbrokes Mates Mode BM78 (1050m)

#6 – Hold on Honey @ $3.50

Hold on Honey is a four-time winner from 13 starts, including two wins at Doomben.

The four-year-old son of Counterattack has yet to finish out of the money at the track, so he’s a track specialist.

Getting the inside draw is ideal and the odds are worth taking.

Race 2. (13:33) Magic Millions Gold Coast (2000m)

#7 – Navajo Peak @ $2.45

Navajo Peak looks set to score another win after finishing second at Randwick last start, which is an excellent form guide.

The four-year-old son of Territories is a four-time winner overall, so he has the class, and carrying 54kg is a steal.

His odds are drifting but we think he’ll be supported late.

Race 3. (14:08) Jim Roberts 35 Years C6 (1600m)

#1 – Bottega @ $3.40

Bottega is much better than a five-time winner. He did most of his racing against tough racing in Melbourne and Sydney, so his record could be much better.

He has enjoyed life in Queensland and it’s about time he won another race, so that could be this Saturday.

The six-year-old son of Snitzel gets 1.5kg off his back to help with the weight.

Race 4. (14:48) Pat Walsh C3 (1200m)

#14 – Miss Tambo @ $7.50

Miss Tambo is already a two-time winner this preparation and we fancy her chances of winning again.

The four-year-old mare won her only start at Doomben last time out by two lengths, so she’s good enough to rise through the grades.

A light weight on her back and value odds.

Race 5. (15:28) Aquis Stallions Gold Jewel (1350m)

#8 – Stuttering @ $4.60

Stuttering is always a winning threat and he’ll love carrying 52.5kg.

The six-year-old scored two back at Eagle Farm before finishing third behind Morethannumberone, which is a solid form guide.

We’re more than happy to take the current odds available.

Race 6. (16:10) Eureka Stud Military Rose (1110m)

#1 – Isotope @ $2.90

Isotope took on the best going around last preparation and suffered, so she should enjoy this company more.

She is a proven fresh up winner and she owns three wins from four starts at Eagle Farm, so the statistics point towards a win.

We just hope last campaign hasn’t dented her confidence.

Race 7. (16:53) Sky Racing Qtis Jewel (1200m)

#8 – Mishani Royale @ $3.70

Mishani Royale is gunning for her fourth consecutive win, and she’s a runner worth following in Queensland.

The two-year-old daughter of Kobayashi scored by 1.8 lengths last start, which showcased her top-end ability.

55kg on her back and the $3.70 could be the best punters get.

Race 8. (17:30) Channel 7 Qtis Jewel (1200m)

#11 – She’sgottheboom @ $6

She’sgottheboom was only fair when resuming but the three-year-old filly might have needed time.

She is a quality youngster with three wins from five starts, so she deserves to be given another chance on Saturday.

Getting the inside draw could make all the difference.

Race 9. (18:05) Stradbroke Season on Sale BM78 (1350m)

#15 – Da Party Gal @ $10

Da Party Gal is a four-time winner from 12 starts and she could score a win at generous odds.

The daughter of Scissor Kick comes off a disappointing effort fresh up, but she should improve with that run under her belt.

Dropping to 53.5kg is ideal, so take the double-figure odds.
