Eagle Farm horse racing tips & form
—
Race 1. (13:27) Racecourse Village Maiden (1200m)
#8 – Oberoi Princess
Oberoi Princess ran second on debut at Sunshine Coast and she could go one better on Wednesday.
The two-year-old filly by Dracarys had solid betting support on that occasion, so we expect odds around $4 here.
Carrying 55kg is ideal and she could get the day off to a winning start.
Race 2. (14:03) Gallopers Sports Club Maiden (1400m)
#7 – Naval Trader
Naval Trader owns two second placings from two starts, so we’re backing him to score a win.
The three-year-old son of Merchant Navy ran second at Eagle Farm on debut, so he has experience on the track.
Dropping to 55kg is ideal and there should be solid betting support on race day.
Race 3. (14:38) Stradbroke Season on Sale Maiden (1600m)
#11 – Compass Rose
Compass Rose improved to run fourth at Eagle Farm last start and she’s heading in the right direction.
The three-year-old daughter of So You Think should appreciate getting to the mile and dropping to 53.5kg is a luxury weight.
Look for a betting push on race day.
Race 4. (15:13) Sky Racing Maiden (1200m)
#4 – San Lucido
San Lucido owns four placings from six starts, so he’s consistent, and good enough to reel off a win.
The three-year-old son of I Am Invincible ran third on this track last time out, so that’s an excellent form guide going forward.
It’s an even field and that should be reflected in betting markets.
Race 5. (15:48) Mount Franklin BM70 (1200m)
#8 – Boho Beauty
Boho Beauty was good enough to win consecutive races earlier this preparation and we hope she gets back to that level.
The four-year-old mare is a four-time winner from 10 starts, so despite running sixth at Doomben last start, she can turn that around.
Look for a betting push with Ryan Maloney riding.
Race 6. (16:23) XXXX Dry C1 Handicap (1400m)
#5 – Invincible Courage
Invincible Courage was far too good for them at Sunshine Coast last start and a repeat could be on the cards.
The five-year-old son of Invincible Spirit won by 4.8 lengths to break maidens and getting barrier four is right up his alley.
There’s no reason why that form can’t stack up here.
Race 7. (16:58) M.M. Gold Coast C1 (1000m)
#10 – Set to Shine
Set to Shine won by a nose on debut at Doomben and we expect her to go well again.
The three-year-old daughter of I Am Invincible is bred to be better than average and she’s in good hands with Tony Gollan.
She will need luck from a wide draw but stick with her.
Race 8. (17:33) Ladbrokes Market Control BM70 (1845m)
#6 – Karlstad
Karlstad hit the line impressively to finish second at Eagle Farm and he’s good enough to go one better.
The five-year-old owns a win and a placing from three starts at the track, so he’s worth following from the Waller stable.
Punters usually get value odds.
Race 9. (18:10) Qtis Jewel Raceday BM70 (1500m)
#8 – Al Aabir
Al Aabir can be one-paced at times, but he was good enough to score consecutive wins last preparation.
The imported runner has run his best races over longer distances, but there isn’t much to this field, so he could capitalise.
Look for generous odds on race day.
